Ich würde mich selbst beschreiben als
I'm looking for a life-partner, a sweetheart, a marrying-woman. If you are a woman who has smiling eyes, is family-oriented, kind, understanding, intelligent, spiritual, non-judgmental, patient, and practical ... then you could be that "beautiful" girl I seek.
At root level, I'm sensible, practical, hard working, family-oriented, optimistic and hopeful. I'm an "idealist" in the way of setting goals, but very "realistic" in the way of getting there (not that I don't buy a lottery ticket every now-and-again). I'm a Home Depot, oil-changing, tent-camping kind of a guy, but I am also a college educated and successful engineer. I am slow, steady, dedicated ... and sometimes very rock-like, in temperament as well as stability. I'm not a red-blooded "Martian" (as in "Men Are From Mars"), but I probably come pretty close. My garage is my "cave" and your "appreciation" for my taking out the garbage will win you wining, dining, and ... my undying affection. I am a Taurus, and while not totally sold on astrology, it does seem that the Bull and I have some things in common (as also I understand with Virgo and Libra mates).
Outside of house projects (which are a never-ending source of joy ...) I enjoy walking, hiking, and occasional biking. I like to get up in the early light of these increasingly brisk mornings and start the day with a nice hot coffee, or maybe even a trip to the local java hut for a pastry and a quick read through the newspaper. When I need to get away, I enjoy drives into nature (mountains and forests in particular) and then getting out of the car and into it. Crunching under a forest canopy or hiking along a stream. Finding a remote spot and just breathing deeply of the pine fragrance and listening to the whisting of the wind. I love to commune with nature and it is my #1 way of getting re-centered. Otherwise I just like to travel, though frankly haven't done much outside of Arizona, Colorado, and California lately. Strawberry or Pinetop anyone?? I love to tent-camp and cook out with an open fire, but I also appreciate a nice hotel and fine dining.
I am a very soft, sentimental, and romantic touch. I open doors, hold hands, and give flowers (a regular MCP I am). I enjoy classic movies and "sappy" movies ("It's A Wonderful Life" still brings tears to my eyes). I also love music, but especially jazz, live symphony, Broadway musicals, and David Benoit. If you go through my CD collection, you'll also find Barenaked Ladies, Ben Folds, Smash Mouth, and The Beatles.
I am born-and-raised Catholic, but currently am a student of spirituality (Wayne Dyer, Conversations with God, The Power of Now, etc.). My religious convictions are the basis of my morality, but I am going through an evolution of faith. I will still go to church with family, but I have a different feel for the purpose of "coming together" in the religious sense.
On a more personal level, know that I am a father of 5 children (2 girls, 3 boys), ages 16 to 26. Mostly good, several are moved out, two are still in the nest. Know also that I am not looking for any more of my own! But I understand parenthood and parenting, the difficulties and heartbreak, the joy and satisfaction. Because of my own family experiences, I value the woman that has had children, the true maternal mother, and the working woman with children. If you still have children, then I will understand. If your children are further along then mine, then your understanding is likewise appreciated.
There's always more to tell and more to talk about, but I can see that I am already getting rather wordy. Looking back over all this, I will call it good for now. Besides, we need to save something for those future correspondences, YES??
